After a very successful debut year in Newcastle, we’re thrilled to announce we will be running the Newcastle leg of the Bloodstock Metal 2 The Masses competition.
The winners receive a slot on the New Blood Stage at Bloodstock. There’s no national finals to navigate, one band from the region will get a slot.
For 2016, the winners were The Souls of Jack Ketch, who woo’d crowds with their technical death metal.
However, in the final, Dirty King also impressed Bloodstock booker Simon Hall and so they received a slot on the Jagermeister stage.
This time round, the full run will be held at Trillians, there’d been a bit confusion as we changed venues each round last time – but keeping at one venue keeps things simple.
Heats begin in February 2017, through to April, with semi finals in May and finally the Grand Final on Friday 23rd June.
Per last time, we’ll be keeping entry price low (more on that soon) so that it’s an inexpensive way of checking out bands, supporting your friends and having a great night out.
Bands : It’s never too soon to register your interest. Send us an email : firstname.lastname@example.org – like last time we’ll run profiles on our website for each band. To clarify there is no entry fee, no pay to play, backline provided. etc. It’s open to unsigned, self-signed and DIY-label bands, wide scope of genres from alt rock to extreme metal. We may even be able to consider non-competing guests this time. Entrants from last time are more than welcome to reapply, with the exceptions of previous winners, though all heats are in Trillians so you must be able to play there.
Last time round it was so encouraging how many fans got behind these events and the bands and we’re really looking forward to welcoming you all back this time around.
